Home From a Weekend at Camp

This weekend I went out to camp. As usual, I had my camera with me. And while I didn't take as many pictures as I normally do, I managed to snap a few really pretty ones. All of the pictures were taken during my random adventures on Saturday. From a trip down to the lake for a swim (which resulted in my first Yoda picture) to the evening fishing trip, I had a fantastic day! Want to see for yourself? First Camping Weekend of the Year!

Last night I got back from my first camping weekend of the year! I had a lot of fun, fitting in lots of fishing, some swimming and even some biking. I posted 18 pictures onto Flickr, including Reflection in the Water (featured here). Hilariously, I brought a ton of Lego with me, but I didn't take a single shot with them! (I forgot a few figs I needed, plus the beach was absent due to the water being so high, which meant I couldn't take a few pics I've been itching to try!)

Back Home from Yet Another Camping Trip

This week I've gone on two separate camping trips! For the long weekend I went out to my Uncle's Camp, came back for a few days, then went to Sibley for a night.

The Huronian trip was a lot of fun. We were originally going to go on Friday night, but the forecast said rain on Saturday so we waited the night and left Saturday morning. Thankfully the rest of the weekend was nice. The weather wasn't the warmest, but it didn't rain so we got in some fishing (pickerel Sunday night and bass Monday). I went swimming on Sunday (which wasn't the best idea as the lake is STILL freezing!) after my adventures seeing a bear (I was picture taking when I came up to a hill. Suddenly something big and black ran away down the path then turned to see what I'd do. I was afraid that it was a cub so I turned and walked back the way I'd come. Of course I was kicking myself afterwards that I didn't take any pics!)

The Sibley trip was originally supposed to be a one night interior camping trip at Quetico. But the way the weather has been this whole summer, we decided to play it safe by going to Sibley with the bikes and staying in the van (so if it was pouring when we woke up we could easily pack up and go home). The first day was a beautiful, warm and sunny day. We biked to Silver Islet, saw a bunch of deer and had a nice campfire. Perfect! But nothing could prepare me for this morning...the Weather Network had changed the forecast to a 70% chance of rain for today so I had already written it off as a day of rain and going home early. Instead, the sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky for most of the day! So we took another bike ride, this time to the dam, saw some more deer, hung out on the beach reading and fit in a nature trail; another perfect day!

More Camping!

Well, I got back earlier this evening from Quetico Provincial Park. I went tenting for one night in a rather unplanned camping trip. It was a lot colder than expected at night, and we were sort of unprepared for the chill....luckily everyone survived! We're all happily back home and warm! :)


I'll be posting some pictures on Flickr from the trip over the next few days. I didn't take a whole lot, but I got a couple of neat pics of some ducks and a groundhog.

Camping Pictures Finally on Flickr!

Yes, it only took me 3 days since I got home, but I am finally putting my camping pictures onto Flickr! I took 164 pictures over the four days! I am not putting all of them up, but I will be posting quite a few! I have just started downloading the day 2 pictures, so once these are up I will have 2 more days to go through! Expect lots of new pics on my photostream!!!!

Tomorrow morning I'm off to camp!!!!! I can't wait!!!!! A whole weekend of fishing, biking and relaxing!!!!!!

Getting Ready for Camping!

I am getting really excited - this weekend I am going camping!!!!! This is the first (and possibly only) camping trip for me this year! I have a nice long weekend, getting Tuesday off as well as Monday. So I am going to go and relax, read, fish, and have fun!!!

In preparation, I do need to go and buy some more fishing lures though - I found out on Sunday (my last fishing trip on the Kam) that I only have boring lures in my tackle box. So Friday I am heading shopping!
