Oh Wow, More Links!

I was checking out my stats again today, and found this post which links to several of my shots! I'm really not sure who posted it, but I wanted to thank them for thinking so highly of my photography! I'm not really sure that I would label most of my included shots as really creative, but thank you chethstudios.com for thinking so!

If you have a chance, check that list out - there are some really amazing shots on it from Flickr

Just Discovered: Someone Blogged One of My Photos!

I was checking out my Flickr stats and found that a blog called Nippyfish: A Betta Blog had directed traffic to my photostream. When I followed the link to the site, I found my favourite pic of my betta, Ichabod, as the pic for the blog's post (attributed to and linked to me). I've seen my photos on another blog (The Brothers Brick), but that one displays the most recent pictures from the Flickr Lego group (so my pics show up there when they're first posted into that group). This is the first time I've seen a blog post that used one of my pics (other than the ones here). Thanks Nippyfish!

An Overdue Update

School has kept me extremely busy, so I've been neglecting things like my blogs. Well, my personal blogs for fun. I had to start a blog for a class, so that one has gotten all of my attention lately (you can check it out here if you're interested).

Besides school, I got a new laptop and Halo ODST in September. My old laptop has given me tons of problems over the years, like the battery dying (and if I hadn't removed it, the battery would have eventually killed the laptop). The newest problem was that a purple vertical line appeared down the left side of the screen. If you want to see what I'm talking about, check out this page. Apparently this was a common problem with the HP ZD8000 laptop. I decided that this was the last straw, so I went out and bought a new laptop. The new one is an Acer. It's a million times quieter and cooler than the ZD8000, and also a lot faster. I'm still getting used to the keyboard (it's not as sensitive as the ZD8000's was when it worked properly), but so far I'm liking it.

Halo ODST is another thing I'm liking. I preordered it in the summer, and was counting down the days until it was released. Luckily it didn't disappoint. I haven't been able to play as much as I'd like (school is keeping me very busy) but I'm enjoying it. The campaign is a bit off - it's not as bad as Halo 2, but not as good as Halo 1 and 3. But once you play through it, you unlock the entire New Mombasa Streets, which is a lot of fun to wander around in. And the multiplayer is fun too. You battle with up to three friends against waves of enemies, instead of gainst other players. It's really tough, but great fun.

I also went to see Streetlight Manifesto in Toronto back in September. They were amazing! You can check out the pics on flickr!

The one thing I'm sad about is my lack of time to write. I wrote a quick poem on Apocalypse Madness for last month's quote, but missed writing for the September quote. I got to post this month's quote, and I'm really hoping I'll have time to write a couple of stories for it. Hopefully I'll be able to sneak some writing time in during the end of next week when I should have a bit of time.

OUTSaga

Once Upon a Time . . . a blog was born! Yes, as I mentioned back on the 5th, I have created a blog dedicated to the stories that we tell from the Once Upon a Time card game. That blog is OUTSaga (Once Upon a Time Saga).

Once Upon a Time

I wandered into The Bookshelf today and found this random game. It sounded amazing, so I picked it up.

Once Upon a Time is a game that involves telling fairy stories. One player is the storyteller, who starts telling a story. They have cards with different fairy tale elements (such as events or characters), which they get to play when those elements come up in their story. Other players use their cards to steal the story from the storyteller, becoming the new storyteller themself. The winner is the player who gets through all of his or her cards and successfully guides the story to their ending card.

I have played one round of Once Upon a Time so far, and I love it! In fact, we had so much fun playing it that we might make a blog dedicated to the stories we come up with from this game!

Happy 2009!

Seasons greetings everyone, and happy 2009!!!!!

It's hard to believe that 2008 is over! So much has happened over the last year. I've started several blogs that seem to be doing well (The List has about 60 posts on it, and Apocalypse Madness has 13 contributors). I've read many great books (and some not so great ones) and have written a fair bit. I am hoping to continue with everything in 2009 (Spacelord still has a lot more story to go!), and to hopefully drum up some more activity on Apocalypse Madness.

My 1st Apocalypse Madness Story is Up!

I'm excited! The first story I wrote for Apocalypse Madness is up! I've been working on it for about two weeks now, and I've finally decided that I am happy with it! If you'd like to check it out, you can find it here. It is the longest story to date on the blog, so it'll take you a few minutes longer than the others to read.

Apocalypse Madness is still looking for contributors! We're currently at 8% capacity, so there's still lots of room! If you're interested, email me here!

Spacelord Post Scheduled for Midnight!!!!

I'm really excited - I figured out how to schedule posts today! I had tomorrow's Spacelord post ready to go, so I originally just saved it as a draft so I could come on sometime tomorrow and just post it quickly. But now I don't have to worry at all - it will automatically be posted at 12:03 am!

See this page if you need help figuring out how to schedule posts.

Apocalypse Madness

If you are interested in writing for Apocalypse Madness, then please send me an email! The blog can support up to 100 authors and we are currently up to 6, so there's still lots of room!

As mentioned on The List, with the conclusion of The Gypsy Morph, I am officially down to 89 books!!!!!

Apocalypse Madness!

Well, today another blog was born! There are going to be a few other contributors to this blog. We will be posting a quote from a Magic card, then writing stories based on that quote. We're going to try posting one new quote every month, giving everyone one month to write. If someone is too busy, or just uninspired by the quote, then they may not write.

I think this is going to be great fun! You can check out the blog at: http://apocalypsemadness.blogspot.com

Spacelord is Up!!!!

Well, I am glad I planned ahead a little bit, as this week's Spacelord post is up! I wrote a rough draft a few nights ago, so I just had to fix it up a little before posting! This is the first post that has been posted before I went to bed since I restarted writing Spacelord in July!

The List

Be sure to check out http://booklistreview.blogspot.com, my blog dedicated to my adventures in reading! The List started out as a record and review of all the books that I have on what I call The List, a list of novels that I own and need to read. Although the actual List is far from over (there are still about 90 books on it for me to read) The List blog is evolving to include all of my reading adventures.

Canada

A friend brought this to my attention about a week ago, and I thought I would share. I thought it was hilarious!

Spacelord is now every Second Monday

I have just posted the new Spacelord, and I have decided that I will only be posting every second Monday. This coming Monday I will be at camp, so I know I won't be able to post. I am going to try it every second Monday to see how it goes.

It was really nice this last week though. I felt like I had lots of time to think of exactly what would happen!

No Spacelord This Week

Sorry to everyone, but there was no Spacelord this week. I was extremely busy yesterday, between work and going out afterwards; I didn't have a chance to finish or post the new post. But don't worry - it will be ready for next week!!!!

The Spacelord Delimma

Well, I have just finished another incident in Detective Spacelord, and now is a good time to consider whether or not I should continue posting every Monday, or if I should drop it down to every second Monday? This last post took a lot of time and effort before I was happy with it, and I know the next ones will as well. However, I do still have time and could make it for every Monday right now (come September, when I head back to school, I am thinking I may drop it down to every second Monday so I have time for school work). So I am asking anyone who reads Spacelord to let me know what they think! Reply to this post, or email me at inkscribbler@gmail.com.
